I have practical experience in designing steel frames and sheet metalwork solutions for numerous projects, and have passed the exams for Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Weldments and Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Sheet Metal (CSWPA-SM).

Below are a few examples of metalwork projects that I have worked on.

The modern wine bar shown above was designed to be fabricated from sheet stainless steel mounted on a box section frame.  The customer-facing side featured decorative glass panels.  The serving side neatly integrated the necessary equipment including bottle refrigerators, sinks, ice-wells, point-of-sale till and card reader, coffee machine adjustable shelving, dustbin space and speed rail for cocktails.  The corner space was left empty to accommodate additional bar equipment required by the client.  The shelf supports were designed to be removable to allow access to the corner for equipment maintenance.

The griddles had been in production for many decades.  The design was originally hand drawn and later updated to 2D CAD.  Working from a combination of the as-made product and previous drawings, the 3D model was created.  The sheet-metal functionality of SolidWorks enabled the creation of engineering drawings of both the finished folded steel parts and the required blanks with the positions of the fold lines shown.
