I have considerable experience in the furniture and joinery industries and have a City and Guilds Level 2 in Site Carpentry with Distinction, as well as various Workshop Health & Safety Certificates.  Most of my commercial joinery experience has been as either a planner or designer.

I have spent some years working as a CAD Design Consultant in the home improvement industry.  This was a customer-facing job requiring the rapid production of accurate plans for kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms as well as providing quotations for installation.  More recently I have designed prison furniture and other bespoke joinery requiring practical solutions to meet customer specifications while maintaining a focus on efficient manufacturing and installation.

Production of my joinery designs has usually involved CNC machining parts from sheet materials such as Trespa or Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) on large format routers or beam saw.  I have produced designs for projects including a new hospital reception desk, school furniture, as well as multiple bespoke kitchens and bedrooms.  I have also been involved with the design and development of individual items of furniture for high-end residential flats, bars for entertainment venues and joinery items for a historic building refurbishment project in London.
